Bowel & Digestive Health Conditions

Our bowels are part of our digestive system and consist of 2 main parts: large intestine (colon) and small intestine (ileum). They are long muscular tubes which process food from the time it leaves the stomach to the point is reached the rectum, ready for expulsion. In total the length can up to 7metres! The action of how the food is propelled from one end of the tube to the other is called peristalsis.

Our bowels main function is to absorb nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, proteins and fats as efficiently as they can whilst getting rid of toxins. Think of it like the bin man! Everyone should be doing a stool at least once a day. The consistency of the stool should be a type 4 on the Bristol Stool chart. This means a smooth soft ‘sausage’ shape with no pain or pushing.

Digestive health covers many conditions from constipation, and diarrhoea to more serious concerns such as IBS, diverticulitis and colitis. Our bowels are affected by our emotions too, as some of my case studies demonstrate.

Homeopathy can help to ease the physical symptoms as well as address the underlying root cause of why your bowels are causing you pain or discomfort.

Health Conditions Library

My Health Conditions Library covers a lot of ground, and that’s because my view of health goes a bit beyond the standard definition.

For me, homeopathic health isn’t simply about the absence of illness. It’s about your Vital Force, that inner energy that keeps you functioning, being strong and steady. It’s about having solid foundations that you actually look after.

I don’t think of good health as being free of illness.

I think of it as being able to cope when you do, and recover without it flooring you. I know this from my own experience; I’ve been a homeopathic patient for years, and the small things that used to drag me down just don’t have the same grip anymore. And when something does come up, I’ve got something to turn to.
