Impetigo Case study
Presenting condition: Severe Impetigo on face, neck and extending on to chest and abdomen
Brief history: Had impetigo 3 or 4 times before and used antibiotic cream to resolve it. This time much worse and mother not keen to use steroid creams on the face. Constipation present.
Relevant timeline incidents:
0yrs Early miscarriage before this child was conceived. Fearful during pregnancy due to this. Moved house during pregnancy. Induced at 37 weeks and born with jaundice.
3months Bronchitis
5yrs Tonsils removed as they were enlarged and multiple bouts of tonsilitis
6yrs Tummy pains with lots of tests. Nothing found.
8yrs Main impetigo flare as shown in pictures.
Main remedy given: Ant Crud
After 1st prescription:
Not much improvement after 3days so prescription changed to Ant Crud and others. Face then improved rapidly over 6 days by 80%. By day 12 face was clear, as seen in pictures. Bowels now moving daily.
After 2nd prescription:
Skin feels normal. Slight demarcation underneath the skin. Can be slightly aggravated by the sun. Less saliva in mouth now.
After 3rd prescription:
Had prickly heat on holiday in Italy, but few doses of remedy and face calmed down immediately and didn’t flare back up to original level. Impetigo never returned after day 12 of original prescription.
Summary:
This young boy was suffering with very itchy red raw skin which kept him up all night and away from school/football. The pictures really tell the story of how when the right remedy is found, the body heals so swiftly, like an arrow to the centre of the dartboard. The young boy and his whole family were so grateful for homeopathic treatment.
