Presenting condition: Allergic dermatitis reaction to facial skincare product
Brief history:
Eczema type reaction to new skin serum used on face about 1yr ago. Skin is hard scaly and itchy. Client finds this unsightly as she has face-to-face work with clients. Areas affected are inner eyebrows, upper eyelids, under the chin, sides of mouth, forearms, shoulder, lower abdomen, groin, and front of thighs.
Relevant timeline incidents:
Age 42;
2yr work project that turned into a ‘nightmare’. Clients didn’t pay her a considerable amount of money for work she’d already completed. They turned nasty, and she considered legal action. She had known the woman for over 10 years prior to engaging them as clients.
Age 43;
The patient had stress incontinence due to coughing after contracting Covid 19
Age 45yrs;
Used the new facial serum
Main remedy given: Staphasagria
After 1st prescription:
Eyelids are so much better after the 7-day remedy! They were crusty, felt ‘sunburnt’, and very sore. The skin on the shoulders, chin, and inner forearms is clear and feels normal. Abdomen and groin areas are still patchy, rough skin, but no longer red. Had ‘flu so the stress incontinence was bad during this time period. Still craving chocolate and sweets daily.
After 2nd prescription:
All areas of skin are now clear! Clients and friends have commented on how clear her skin is now. Stress incontinence is still there in ‘waves’. Chocolate cravings are now starting to be less intense.
Summary:
This lady’s skin had flared seemingly due to a new skin serum, which she discontinued immediately after the dermatitis reaction. However, this didn’t explain why the reaction spread to other areas of her body where the serum had not been applied. Her skin is now clear, and her chocolate cravings are a lot less intense.
