The Chakra system
Chakras are energy vortices which connect our physical and energetic worlds. The word chakra comes from the Sanskrit word for ‘wheel’ which symbolises cyclic life patterns.
There are 7 chakra points, and these are linked to the 7 main endocrine glands/organs. Chakra points can be misaligned, out-of-balance, open or closed. Reiki and crystal healing are 2 ways in which chakras can be rebalanced. Specific poses in yoga can also help to open up certain points, e.g. solar plexus chakra point responds favourably to bow pose, warrior pose and revolved triangle pose.
Here are the 7 points along with some brief information about them:
- Crown chakra (Sahasrara)

Possible emotional issues caused by out of balance Crown chakra: Unaware of spirituality with ‘black and white’ thinking. Inability to see the bigger picture and lack of bliss. You can also have a disconnection from earth and reality with extreme sensitivity to light/sound etc.

I use the chakra system as another tool to analyse cases. It can point me in a certain direction, so I will support the relevant endocrine organ or give a remedy that is linked to that particular chakra.
There is a specific group of remedies called meditative provings which are linked to the chakras. They can be very handy in these types of cases. Homeopathy is an energy medicine and also comes under the complementary umbrella.
All the alternative medicine systems approach a problem from a slightly different angle but they all agree with each other.
