Presenting condition: Urinary Tract Infections starting on day 3 of the menstrual cycle. Patient wanting a long term solution.
A brief history of condition: 2019 – suffered every month.
Jan-Jun 2020 – suffered every 2nd month whilst on long-term preventative antibiotics (Nitrofurantoin). Has had several lots of antibiotics to treat the acute condition.
Other relevant factors:
Regular meds: Lansoprazole 15mg 1 tablet daily for heartburn/reflux.
Periods: Painful sharp cramps each month with bloating and PMT.
Relevant Emotional/Timeline Incidents:
5yrs: Bladder/Bedwetting issues
6yrs: Brother’s friend teased her for the above issues and she was then scared to use the toilet at his house. A male teacher indecently exposed himself to her.
7yrs: First UTI. Treated with antibiotics.
13yrs: Parents separated. Mum left but Dad had bi-polar, so no structure. Had to learn to cook/do laundry/get up on time pretty quickly!
16yrs: Chronic fatigue syndrome which meant she was bedridden for 1 month. Periods totally exhausted her.
19yrs: Living with boyfriend but his step-dad constantly criticised and belittled her.
21st: Dad had a major bipolar episode on her 21st birthday. He had to be sectioned.
23yrs: Moved in with Mum but she was a heavy smoker, as was her partner. The patient spent much of her time in her room as the smoke affected her breathing. She was told to ‘stop making a fuss!’
24yrs: Lots of time spent managing Dad’s behaviour with her brother’s help.
26yrs: Dad died.
33yrs: Husband diagnosed with cancer. Grandfather died.

40yrs: Step-dad died suddenly of a heart attack. Big shock
42yrs: Diagnosis of connective tissue disorder which she had always suspected but was ‘brushed off’ by conventional medicine.
Relevant familial history:
Aunt on father’s side suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome and also has suspected connective tissue disorder.
Main homeopathic remedy given: Nat mur (Sea Salt)
After 1st prescription:
Remedy for heartburn worked well! Now only using half a Lansoprazole tablet once a week, as appose to once daily before. No period, but no UTI either.
After 2nd prescription:
Hand rash all gone! Stools softer and less dry. Period: No bloating, no PMT and no cramps! This has not happened in 30yrs! No UTI.
After 3rd prescription:
No UTI. Period: slight cramping but 2 doses of the remedy mix sorted that out. Mood is generally more stable. ‘No rage, even though I’ve had plenty of reasons to be angry this month!’
After 4th prescription:
No UTI. Period: no bloating, no PMT, no pain. No rage!
5 months without suffering a UTI. Sore, blistery rash on forefinger and thumb all gone. Periods: No bloating, PMT or pain. Emotionally more stable. Less or no rage. Huge decrease in anxiety as she is no longer dreading every period. She was worried about further invasive tests she may be subjected to in order for conventional medicine to find the cause of her infections.
