Debilitating migraines and sleep robbing hot flushes
Presenting condition: Debilitating migraines lasting 36hrs but client is unable to function properly for 2-3 day afterwards. These are occurring 2-3times per month. Night sweats are waking her up several times in the night and nightclothes are soaked.
Brief history: Menopausal symptoms started 6yrs ago but GP dismissed her as too young to be starting the menopause aged 43yrs. Client now 49yrs old.

41yrs: Grandmother passed away. She was very close to her.
43yrs: Period became heavy and 10days of bleeding. She also had heavy painful breasts which she had not suffered with before. GP told her she was too young to be experiencing the menopause.

Main remedy given: Nat mur
After 1st prescription:
Feeling good! Only had 2 headaches which were much less intense. Headache remedy helped to shorten the length of the headache. The low feeling has now gone. Within 3-4 days of taking the remedies, it felt like a cloud had lifted and it has stayed that way. Hot flushes have been less intense and less frequent. Had my first period in 5 months! It was very light bleeding. Sleeping much better as not being woken by night sweats. Bowels are now 3-4 times/week. Previously twice a week.
After 2nd prescription:
Only had 1 headache this month which was much shorter and not debilitating. Strange as I’ve been really busy at work which involves lots of screen time. Had 7-10days of mild occasional hot flushes, but no where near what it was before. Got so much energy now – 20/10! Had a week of feeling nostalgic and weepy with lots of dwelling on stuff that happened at university.
After 3rd prescription:
Had 1 bad headache that lasted 36hrs but mother had an accident so my stress levels were very high. Hot flushes had started to increase in intensity over Xmas but are now on alternate days and low intensity (3/10 compared to 10/10 unbearable, red, dripping before). Had a proper period over Xmas but no clots, pain, bloating or PMT! Bowels are now daily but not over Xmas period of eating and drinking too much.
After 4th prescription:
2 headaches this month but still less intense. Hot flushes are now 1-2 daily but am enjoying the novelty of wearing jumpers again. Night sweats have increased slightly in frequency but the Bach flower White Chestnut has really helped to increase my sleep quality. Hip pain is better as she is avoiding alcohol and tomatoes.
After 5th prescription:
Had 1 nasty headache but no more since! Not really had any hot flushes in the day or night for about 2 weeks now. Period came as normal and was heavy but not unbearable. No pain, clots or PMT. Sleep is so much better as there are no night sweats. She is seeing an osteopath for her hips and she listened to a running podcast with expert Helen Hall, upon my recommendation.
Summary:
Migraine headaches are no longer debilitating, frequent or intense. Hot flushes are gone! Periods now more regular with no PMT. Hip pain is better managed. Low mood gone. ‘I’m in a much better place than I was this time last year, it’s amazing! Thank you so much for all your help!’
