Frequent tonsilitis case study
Presenting condition:
Recurrent frequent tonsilitis every 4-6 weeks.
Relevant timeline incidents:
Age 0 Born 6 weeks premature. Umbilical Cord wrapped about neck twice
Age 5 Bullied at school
Age 7-8 Frequent ear infections with lots of antibiotics
Age 11 Front door kicked in by bailiffs. Wrong house! Quite scared and traumatized.
Age 12 Moved in with grandmother. Her sister passed away. This was hard to process but very sad.
Age 16 Started a BTEC course but they didn’t let him do the course he wanted to.
Age 21 Bad tonsilitis. Maternal grandfather died. He was very close to him.
Age 22-23 Very bad tonsilitis on and off almost every month. Occasionally lost his voice with the infection. Lots of antibiotics.
Age 24 Sore throats still frequent and recurrent. Came out as being gay.
Age 27 Bad ear and throat infection. Chest infection in the summer. Left job as felt the rates of pay were unfair.

After 1st prescription:
Went away on holiday after a stressful time at self-employed work. Didn’t get ill which was unusual. Recommended iron and Vit D supplements to help with energy.
After 2nd prescription:
Major ear infection. Ended up in hospital to have the fluid drained. Had antibiotics and steroids for 10 days. Then had a chest infection too. Had more sleep and going to sleep earlier. Having less coffee too. Looking to hire someone to help with workload as feeling overwhelmed. Recommended probiotics.
After 3rd prescription:
No infections this month! Feel better for taking the recommended supplements. This patient is very sporty and trains 4-5 times a week. Needs more sleep but is aware of this and is prioritizing this. Had a dream about old nasty boss. Moved to 6 week interval between appts as he’s doing so well.
After 4th prescription:
Started taking the iron supplement and noticed a rise in energy. No infections or illnesses these last 6 weeks. Craving jelly sweets. Sleep is good and no unpleasant dreams. Hayfever has been bothering him on and off, but not as bad as before the Hayfever Prevention Programme. Moved to 10 week interval between appts as he’s doing so well.
After 5th prescription:
No infections or illnesses in last 10 weeks. No longer craving sugar like last time. Dream about former workplace but not unpleasant. 10 week interval again now.
After 6th prescription:
No infections! Had a mild flu thing recently but got over it quite quickly as it didn’t progress further. Plan to step down the daily homeopathic remedy for supporting his tonsils. No further appts needed.
Summary:
This man was suffering from painful recurrent tonsillitis which meant he was having antibiotics almost every month. He is now more robust in himself and able to deal with illnesses quickly and effectively.
